Punya Palit is a highly experienced Business and Technology Consultant with over 27 years of experience in the IT industry in India, Australia, and the USA. He has worked across various domains such as pre-sales, post-sales, software development, consulting, design, implementation, back office operation, practice building, training, and supervision. Punya has extensive infrastructure management and software development experience with client/server & web-based applications, data warehousing, and environments using 3rd and 4th generation programming languages across platforms. Punya has worked in big firms and niche vendors and has also worked as a customer, which adds a different perspective to working with a vendor. He is effective in working with groups of people in initiatory and supervisory capacity and as a presenter of information to others. Punya believes and practices situational leadership, which highlights that there are four different management styles, and one needs to change one’s style depending on the type of person they are dealing with. He believes that skills can be acquired, but attitude should come from within. One of Punya's significant achievements has been the management of EFTPOS rollout on Taxis across Australia, which is in excess of $30 Million project involving premier companies such as National Australia Bank, Telstra, Ingenico, VisionDB, Techcomm, and Cabcharge in-house staff. He is also a security professional and did his CISSP certification in 2005. Currently, Punya is working as a Business and Technology Consultant/Product Management at Saviom Software, a leading technology solutions provider with flagship enterprise resource planning, project portfolio management, and workforce planning tools. He is closely working with the senior management and stakeholders in many different areas such as Marketing, Product management, development, etc. They are in the process of releasing their new product on Professional Services Automation (PSA) space. Punya has also worked as a Professor of Computer Science at IILM University, where he was responsible for establishing the Computer Science department during his brief tenure. He has also worked as Vice President - Product Line at Netway Inc., a Bay area-based startup, where they were building a framework to build accelerators for proactive resource management. Punya has a Master's degree in Engineering Science from the University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Engineering from IIT.
