Rahul Khandelwal is a dynamic and results-oriented Software Development Engineer II at Amazon with a passion for integrating technology and business processes to deliver value-added consumer solutions and services. As a tech lead, Rahul is also driving several initiatives, including developing a data layer for online ingression/egression of billions of precomputed image embeddings and features used for inference and training of ML models, developing a test platform to validate, benchmark, and load test ML models onboarded to their inference service, and migrating their core inference platform from AWS SageMaker to an internally developed solution for better performance and cost savings. In the past, Rahul has delivered several projects by designing and implementing full-stack software, including front-end dashboards/tools, Coral-based back-end services, and serverless Native AWS services to support multiple business segments such as Amazon Go, Amazon Books, 4-stars, and Whole Foods Market. These systems and services were instrumental in simplifying and automating the provisioning process of Associate handheld Android devices, which was a P0 requirement for launching and scaling Amazon's new grocery and food stores across the US. Rahul's work resulted in a 95.3% reduction in the amount of time taken to provision a device, a 1100% increase in the number of devices that can be provisioned in parallel, and a 98.5% reduction in the number of clicks required to provision the device. Rahul holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology. He has 4.61 years of relevant experience and is proficient in several technologies, including Software Engineering, ML, AWS, test, Sagemaker, Spark, Big Data, Senior Software Engineering, Android, Frontend, and Backend.
