Rahul Patwari is a Senior Software Engineer with a passion for solving large-scale data problems using concurrent and distributed systems. With over 5 years of relevant experience, Rahul has a strong background in data engineering and stream processing platforms. He is currently working at Grab as a Senior Software Engineer, where he is responsible for developing metrics and stream processing platforms. Prior to his current role, Rahul worked at Solera as a Data Engineer, where he fixed a memory leak in a caching library used across all Flink pipelines in the platform. He also implemented a data pipeline that can track the location of 200k customer fleet vehicles in real-time with a latency CAP and SLA of 15 seconds using Flink, Kafka, Cassandra, and Redis. Rahul was promoted to Tech Lead cum Scrum Master in Feb 2022, where he mentored a team of 4 Dev and 2 QA. He enhanced customer experience with 10x latency improvements by modernizing legacy applications in the cloud using Flink, Kafka, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and Redis. Rahul also built core business logic using reactive event-driven microservices using Vert.x toolkit. He performed impact analysis of legacy systems and created new scalable designs in the cloud to support the scaling of data applications for a new IoT device launch. Before joining Solera, Rahul worked at Omnitracs as a Data Engineer, where he gained valuable experience in data engineering and stream processing platforms. Rahul holds a degree in Software Engineering from SDMCET, where he graduated in 2017. He is skilled in Redis, Cassandra, Kafka, Elastic Search, Spark, Kubernetes, Scala, Java, QA, and Microservices. Rahul is also passionate about contributing to open-source projects and scaling applications.
