Rahul Paul is a highly skilled technologist with over 12 years of experience in developing high-performance distributed systems, mostly in Java. He graduated with a 5-year integrated MSc in Mathematics and Computing from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT-KGP) in 2009. Currently, he is working as a Consulting Member of Technical Staff (CMTS) at Oracle, where he is building RESTful backends for Oracle Internet of Things (IoT) SaaS applications. Rahul is an expert in building distributed, fault-tolerant, low-latency systems for various domains, including Internet of Things applications and trading systems for algorithmic and high-frequency trading. He has a good understanding of Big Data technologies, containers (Docker), and container orchestration technologies (Kubernetes). At Oracle, Rahul has worked as a Principal Member of Technical Staff and a Senior Member of Technical Staff, where he designed, architected, and implemented (in Java) Oracle IoT Cloud, SaaS Applications (Server Side/ Backend). He was the lead developer of Fleet Monitoring & Shipment Monitoring application, which is part of Oracle-IoT suite of applications. Rahul also developed an algorithm for location aggregation and detachment detection, for various elements in a shipment, which is pending for US Patent. He developed a Python project for end-to-end automation of customer data migration from OCI-Classic (Oracle Cloud - Legacy) to OCI (Oracle Cloud - NextGen). He also developed a framework for integration and functional testing in Python and handed it over to the QA team. Rahul's education history includes a Master of Science in Mathematics and Computing and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computing from IIT-KGP. He also attended DAV Model School and St. Xavier's School in Durgapur. Rahul has a broad tech stack, including Java, Python, SQL, Elastic Search, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Flask, Redis, MySQL, Hadoop, Pandas, and Web.
