Rakesh Sinha is a seasoned engineering leader with over 18 years of experience in building and leading high-performance teams in creating distributed, multi-tiered, and scalable systems. He is currently serving as a Senior Engineering Manager at Google, Search, where he is focused on building for India and working towards the company's mission to "organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful." Prior to joining Google, Rakesh was a Senior Engineering Leader at Uber, where he led multiple teams under Customer Obsession in Bengaluru, India. He also led payment risk charter, managing all the money that moves "in" and "out" of Uber, building distributed, scalable, and resilient engineering ecosystems to monitor, track, and control money transactions across all Uber product family. He built the team from scratch, hiring top-talent in the Bay Area across levels, groomed engineers to grow into senior tech-lead, manager roles, and established strong collaboration between product, engineering, and ops. Rakesh is a Bar Raiser at Uber and was also a founding member and tech-lead on the Financial Intelligence team in 2015. He later led the team that built Uber's first real-time rider incentives platform. Rakesh holds a B.Tech. degree in Electronics & Communication from R.B.S. College, Agra (U.P. Technical University, Lucknow). He also completed his X+2 from Boys' High School & College, Allahabad, and X from Mary Lucas School, Allahabad. Rakesh's tech stack includes Senior Software Engineer, Search, Java, Backend, Spring, Big Data, Integration, Web, CI/CD, Python, ML, Frontend, Software Engineer, test, Jenkins, Mobile, infra, Redis, NoSQL, and Cassandra.
