Ruchi Ookalkar is a highly skilled Product Designer with over 3 years of experience in fast-paced startup environments. She is currently working as a Product Designer at Atlassian, where she is responsible for designing and developing the Distributed Tracing SaaS tool offered by SumoLogic. Ruchi has a strong background in front-end development, having previously worked at Flipkart (e-commerce) in a similar role. Her experience in both design and development gives her a unique perspective on product design, allowing her to create intuitive and effective user experiences. At Sumo Logic, Ruchi was the UX owner of Tracing and Observability, which was released in 2020. She also set up design and collaboration processes in the scrum team, working closely with project managers, quality engineers, and developers. Additionally, she designed the information architecture of Tracing within the Sumo Logic product and set up reusable interaction patterns for the monitoring platforms. Prior to this, Ruchi was the UX owner of Dashboard (New) at Sumo Logic, where she designed the end-to-end user flows and set up interaction patterns. She also helped drive empathy for the user through multiple user research activities and set up the design and QE collaboration process. Ruchi holds a Master's degree in Information Science/Studies from the University of Michigan, which she completed in 2019. She also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, which she completed in 2016. Ruchi's technical skills include product design, design, frontend development, product management, and research science. With over 5.20 years of relevant experience, she is a highly motivated and talented individual who is passionate about creating innovative and user-friendly products.
