Ruchir Hajela is a highly skilled Software Engineer with over 14 years of experience in building software involving large amounts of data. He is currently working at Comcast as a Software Engineer, where he has developed a high-throughput, low-latency data platform for handling real-time data from Comcast xfinity customers and devices. Ruchir has also designed and developed SmartConnect feature over data platform which enables smarter decision making and allows Comcast to proactively & automatically send communication to customers/agents based on the data. He has architected and developed a system to process Comcast users’ data in order to comply with FCC legal notifications, which should result in a future cost savings of approximately one million dollars. Ruchir is extremely agile in adopting new technologies and keeping abreast of developments in allied areas. He reduced the cost of running data pipeline by 40% and achieved low latency for the data graph by using Kafka and Pilosa. Ruchir also built a reporting solution for the company's marketing campaigns and developed data flow ETLs for batch data by using and contributing to Python Apache Airflow library (by Airbnb). Ruchir holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Cornell University, where he graduated in 2017.
