Salman Ahsan is a Senior DevOps Engineer at Paytm with 7.7 years of relevant experience in cloud infrastructure design and management. He has a deep understanding of containerization and automation of delivery processes using CI/CD. Salman is proficient in AWS and Azure cloud services and has the ability to design self-healing scalable infrastructures for applications. At Paytm, Salman is responsible for setting up AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service clusters and worker nodes with containerized self-healing applications. He also sets up applications on ArgoCD with Helm Charts enabling continuous deployments to K8S pods. Salman enables scalable and cost-efficient K8S environments using Cluster Autoscaler and HPA and enables persistent volume mounts using AWS Elastic File System. Salman also creates Jenkins jobs to enable CI/CD for various projects and manages and maintains a huge chunk of ELK cluster. Salman has also migrated legacy data center applications over to the cloud and manages infrastructure as code using Terraform. Salman sets up monitoring for the K8s environment using AWS Cloudwatch, Prometheus, and Grafana. Previously, Salman worked at To The New, where he was a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer and a Cloud Operations Engineer. At To The New, Salman managed multiple infrastructures hosted on various cloud computing platforms like Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. Salman was responsible for end-to-end analysis of production issues, error analysis of the logs, identification of root cause using Kibana, Datadog, Nagios, New Relic, Pingdom, CloudWatch. Salman also automated alerts generation by writing AWS Lambda functions in Python and managed infrastructures designed over Dockers & Containers. Salman managed infrastructure designed over Kubernetes/ECS and had hands-on experience with queuing services like RabbitMQ. Salman managed the Linux Servers which also include the Apache Web Server and Tomcat Application Servers. Salman holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Lingayas University, Faridabad. Salman has also completed his Intermediate from MAF Academy, Noida, and his High School from Cambridge School, Noida.
