Samaneh Moghaddam is an accomplished Engineering Manager, AI and Machine Learning at LinkedIn with a passion for Machine Learning, Data Mining, and Information Retrieval. With almost a decade of relevant experience in this field, she has a proven track record of delivering personalized user experiences through her work. Currently, she is managing the Feed AI team at LinkedIn, where she is responsible for delivering a personalized user experience on LinkedIn Feed. Prior to this, Samaneh was a Staff Machine Learning Engineer and Tech Lead at eBay, where she led a research track in the Structured Data team. She built deep neural network models for extracting name entities from eBay queries, such as brand, color, size, etc., with the goal of building a semantic search engine for eBay. Samaneh holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a focus on Probabilistic Graphical Models and their applications on Sentiment Analysis. During her time at Simon Fraser University, she conducted research and published several research papers in the area of Sentiment Analysis with the focus on Aspect-based Opinion Mining through the application of Probabilistic Graphical Models. Samaneh's tech stack includes AI, ML, Senior Software Engineer, Research Scientist, Sentiment Analysis, Information Retrieval, Search, and Neural Networks. Her educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University and a Master's Degree in Computing Science from Sharif University of Technology.
