Sanjeev Kumar is an experienced data scientist, project leader, and software engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the consumer goods, insurance, utility, and mobile phone industry. With almost a decade of relevant experience, he is skilled in designing scalable systems and solutions, linear algebra, univariate and multivariate statistics, machine learning, econometrics, natural language processing, and programming languages such as R, Python, PySpark, SparkR, C, C++, and Matlab. Currently working as a Data & Applied Scientist at Microsoft, Sanjeev has previously worked as a Data Scientist at Anheuser-Busch InBev, where he worked on the development of pricing and promotion analytics framework. He also delivered training to internal teams on data science tools like Python, R, and agile framework like scrum to scale data-science projects from prototypes to real-time analytics applications. He gained expertise in econometrics (discrete choice modelling, multiple regression, BLP method for structural demand estimation), optimization algorithms (mixed-integer and non-linear programming), and Azure platform for machine learning. As a Consultant at TCG Digital, Sanjeev served as an Analytics Project Leader, delivering a pilferage detection system to enable electricity distribution organizations to detect and prevent non-technical losses. He also delivered an advanced analytics-based platform as a solution for India's leading insurance organizations, increasing the efficiency of reporting and leveraging advanced analytics solutions like fraud detection for their insurance policy claim and renewal process. He developed a prototype for detecting fraud using image analytics and information verification from documents using OCR for an insurance underwriting team. Sanjeev also delivered training to internal data-science teams and business stakeholders on data science tools like SparkR, PySpark, Python, R, and machine learning. Sanjeev holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics from IIM Calcutta, ISI Kolkata, and IIT Kharagpur, and a B.Tech in Computer Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra.
