Shantanu P. is a highly accomplished technology leader with over 25 years of experience in digital transformation, technology architecture, eCommerce, consumer-facing products, supply chain technologies, AI/ML, and data analytics. He has a proven track record of building highly successful and talented teams for startups to Fortune 100 companies. Shantanu is passionate about scaling tech platforms, leveraging data and machine learning, building cloud scale products, developing people, and growing business. Currently, Shantanu serves as the Chief Technology Officer at apna, where he is accountable for technological innovations and building a job and networking platform at scale. He drives the complete tech growth strategy enabling software development, AI/data & machine learning, cloud platform & infrastructure engineering teams to build a highly scalable world-class tech platform. Previously, as the CTO at PayU, Shantanu drove their platform growth strategy empowering PayU's financial offerings & businesses across India and other global customers at mammoth scale. As the VP of Engineering at Walmart Labs India, he built/managed and coached powerful teams across geographies. He led and managed globally an engineering team of 800+ across Sunnyvale, Bangalore, Bentonville, and Hoboken development centers who were responsible for optimizing eCommerce and grocery supply chains, blurring the lines between physical and digital shopping worlds for customers. Shantanu has hands-on experience in building, leading & mentoring software teams to enable the delivery of world-class products from India. He has led/mentored teams to design and develop highly scalable cloud platforms like the last mile, fulfillment and delivery systems, marketplaces, customer care & reverse logistics, and order management and inventory management systems for Fortune 100 companies & startups. He has been a brand-building champion and one of the key leaders accountable for WalmartLabs growth in India from <100 to >5000.
