Sharan is an experienced Software Development Engineer (SDE) with over 6.78 years of relevant experience in the field. He is currently working as an SDE 3 at Khatabook, a fast-growing digital ledger app company based in India. Prior to this, he worked as an SDE at Yelp, where he led efforts to build a product that offers both waitlist and reservations to restaurants. He designed an algorithm that automatically merges the reservations into waitlist at the right time and integrated this product with Yelp’s guestbook service. He also designed and implemented cross-cutting, application-wide full-stack features with care for application and developer impact. Additionally, he worked actively on Yelp Waitlist ETL product, responsible for taking the production data to data warehouses. Sharan has also worked as a Software Engineer at Coupondunia, where he was responsible for complete web development (both Frontend and Backend). He is mainly efficient in MySQL, MVC, PHP(+Yii Framework), Javascript(+JQuery), AJAX, CSS, and HTML. He has worked on Service Oriented Architecture of 7 different services interacting with one another using Restful APIs in an Agile development environment. Sharan has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIIT. He is skilled in software engineering, dotNET, ETL, web development, Javascript, PHP, MySQL, Frontend, and Backend. Sharan is passionate about building innovative products and is always eager to learn new technologies and techniques to improve his skills.
