Shaziya Syeda is a highly skilled software architect and engineer with over 10 years of experience in designing and implementing scalable microservices, service-oriented architectures, and distributed systems. Her immense curiosity drives her to constantly improve her skills, experiment with different ways of solving problems, optimize existing infrastructures, and improve the efficiency of backend systems. Currently, Shaziya is the Vice President of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase & Co. where she leads the development of backend systems with micro-service architecture. She works with logic distributed across multiple microservices written in Scala on top of Play framework with Akka, communicating using REST and asynchronous messaging (Kafka). These services handle specialized tasks such as logistics, inventory-management, recommendations, search, data collection, and syncing. Shaziya's modularity allows for rapid development, which is further enabled by fast testing and simple deployment due to their robust DevOps systems (Chef/Jenkins). Previously, Shaziya worked at Zilingo as a Tech Lead and Senior Software Developer. During her time at Zilingo, she was involved in integrating B2B logistic partners for cross border and domestic shipments in India, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia. She was also involved in the integration of warehouse partners to automate inventory management and to optimize their pick-pack processes. Shaziya was instrumental in architecture, design, and implementation of pro-forma invoicing solutions for B2B sales. She was also responsible for identifying and bringing new talent onboard and strategizing training programs for new recruits according to their roles and levels. Shaziya's expertise in designing and strategizing distributed launches has presented her with many opportunities to launch new features and solutions smoothly with minimal risk. She has established an open, trustworthy, and respectful culture to innovate, learn, and grow with her team. Shaziya has worked with teams and partners from different geographies, which has given her the opportunity to learn efficient communication and co-creation. Shaziya holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in ECE from BITM. She also completed her 12th-grade education in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology from VKJ PU College, Siruguppa, and her 10th-grade education from SES Girls' High School. Shaziya's tech stack includes microservices, backend, senior software engineer, integration, test, Scala, Kafka, Jenkins, DevOps, search, and software engineer.
