Shibu Lijack Alangararaj is a Senior Software Engineer at LinkedIn with almost 10 years of experience in web development. He specializes in UI development and has a passion for experimenting with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Shibu has worked with frameworks such as Ember.js, Angular, and React, and stays up-to-date with changes in web technologies to ensure he can meet challenges with the right tools. Shibu started his career as a full-stack developer at Scientific Games, but soon realized his passion for UI development and joined Freshworks as a front-end developer. He worked there for 5 years and was an expert in Ember.js, where he was the architect of Nucleus, a component library for Freshworks. Shibu also migrated the entire test suite of the Freshdesk Ember.js app and incrementally upgraded it from 2.18 to 3.4. Currently, Shibu is a part of the Flagship R&D engineering team at LinkedIn, where he works predominantly on LinkedIn Groups. He has been responsible for architecting the micro frontend refactoring of the Groups engine, which resulted in a significant improvement in both the member experience and better developer experience. Shibu has also implemented the dashboard for Groups Analytics, which has been the most requested feature in Groups, and has architected various organizer-related features such as Automated member approval that lets the Group admins automate many of their mundane workflows. Shibu is also leading the web development of multiple features for the Groups product and plays a vital part in maintaining the code quality at LinkedIn by reviewing hundreds of PRs every month across various pillars. Shibu has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the College of Engineering, Guindy, and a background in Mathematics and Computer Science from Sri Jayendra Golden Jubilee School.
