Shouvik Ghosh is a highly skilled software engineer with 2.43 years of experience in the industry. Currently working at CERN as a Software Engineer, he is responsible for migrating the default Gitlab container registry to Harbor container registry to improve automatic garbage collection, vulnerability scanning, and OCI artifact support for docker containers. He is also involved in designing, implementing, and supporting automatic authentication by Gitlab CI to the harbor, researching and optimizing the login process using robot accounts in Harbor for making the process seamless for the end-users. Once deployed, the changes will affect approximately 17,000 CERN users and handle more than 10,000 Gitlab CI jobs every day. Prior to working at CERN, Shouvik worked as a Research and Development Intern at Veritas, where he worked on the project of sharing Docker images across hosts on Veritas distributed file system. He conducted research to enable distributed daemons to collaboratively retrieve and store container images in shared storage and create containers from the shared images. He also worked at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi as a Research Intern, where he undertook the project of train electricity consumption prediction and optimized a variant of A* algorithm for public transport routing. Shouvik holds a Master's degree in Informatics from Technical University Munich, a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from SRM University, and a Master's degree in Informatics from Delhi Public School, Gandhinagar.
