Shyamal Kumar is a highly experienced data networking product leader with over 23 years of relevant experience. He has led several platforms spanning data center, enterprise, and service provider networks and is passionate about embracing SDN and cloud technologies to bring simplicity and performance to data networks. Shyamal started his career with the venerable FreeBSD TCP/IP stack and has been instrumental in breakthrough product lines like the Juniper MX. He also brought the initial generation of wireless broadband platforms in the world, through the Telsima WiMAX portfolio. Back in 2001, he was a key member of Inkra Networks, building the industry’s first virtual services switch, which had zero downtime over years of network upgrades, due to its pioneering dynamically linked modular system architecture. As Founder & CEO of Lavelle Networks, Shyamal has brought to market SD-WAN products. Lavelle Networks has built some of the world’s largest SD-WAN rollouts in digital transformation projects in a record time of weeks. Shyamal is a graduate of BITS, Pilani and has been in the data networking space for the last 18 years leading products at Tata Elxsi, Juniper Networks, Inkra Networks, Telsima Communications, Riverstone Networks, NetContinuum, and Versa Networks among other companies. At Lavelle Networks, Shyamal and his team have set out to deliver the best enterprise network experience for every user, on every device, for any application, on any cloud. They believe that by doing this, they will enable every customer to take their business to every location on the planet they wish to, because they will be there to ensure their networks are always accelerated, secured, and simplified. Shyamal's past experiences include building and leading the R&D team at Versa Networks in Bangalore, conceptualizing and delivering the first product milestone, leading to the cornerstone demonstration of virtual network service scale-out. He also worked at Juniper Networks as a Senior Engineering Manager, where he was part of the mobility group, building LTE & EPC gear. Shyamal holds a B.E in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a Masters in Management Studies from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
