Sumit Mittal is a seasoned software engineering lead with over 15 years of experience in development and test automation. His technical expertise includes cross-platform proficiency in Windows and Linux, fluency in various programming languages such as Python, Golang, and Perl, and advanced knowledge of applications, tools, methodologies, and best practices. He is currently helping his team build the next-generation streaming database in the cloud at Risingwave Labs. Sumit has extensive experience in test automation, agile methodology, and knowledge of network layers protocol, distributed systems, basic storage concepts, and testing concepts and methodologies. He is well-versed in various test automation frameworks such as Pytest, Robot Framework, Junit, TestNG, and Cypress, and web protocols such as HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, and SAN/NAS. Additionally, he has a strong understanding of other technologies such as Kubernetes, Kafka, Docker, Ansible, AWS, and Azure, and databases such as Aerospike, Redis, and PostgreSQL. In his current role as a software engineering lead at Risingwave Labs, Sumit is responsible for all aspects of performance and reliability engineering. He has ramped up and led the performance and reliability engineering team, architected and developed the performance test framework, and created and automated the end-to-end tests. Prior to this, he was a staff engineer at Imperva, where he designed, architected, and developed the test frameworks for system and performance testing, worked with API security features, and led the team to own the quality of the product for every release. He has also worked as a staff software engineer at Aerospike, where he built and enhanced the test framework to efficiently test the Aerospike NoSQL DB. Sumit holds an engineer's degree in Electronics and Communications from Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology. He is proficient in various tools such as Asana, JIRA, Quality Center, and Xray, and has relevant experience in test, SDET, Redis, AWS, Python, Golang, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, MySQL, Kafka, Azure, web, NoSQL, software engineer, senior software engineer, and infra.
