Suresh Sankaran is a seasoned Engineering Leader with over 22 years of experience in driving critical business, digital, and data technology strategy roadmaps to enhance customer adoption rate and achieve organizational growth. Currently serving as the Director of Data Engineering & Management at Diageo, he has successfully implemented enterprise-wide and customer-centric solutions using his expertise in Technology, Digital Architecture, Data Strategy, Engineering, and Analytics. Suresh has a proven track record of reducing attrition to single-digit and aligning employee grooming well with business demand. He has also enhanced internal processes using data across functions, instrumental in rolling out performance-driven appraisals, and reducing complexity in the promotion process. Suresh's expertise includes senior leadership networking, solution designing, and sales support. In his previous roles, Suresh has headed the central data practice globally for data engineering at Nissan Motor Corporation, defining global data architecture and engineering standards through reference architectures, re-use strategy, best practices & guidelines, and bootstrapping world-class data engineering teams. He has also built a center of excellence (COE) and key data deliveries, including engineering of group data platforms, pre-sales activities, conceptualizing key data platforms like customer data platforms (CDP), and thought leadership within and outside the organization at Publicis Sapient. Suresh has a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mathematics from the University of Kerala. His tech stack includes Data Engineering, Integration, and DevOps. Suresh is a VUCA leader, driving him towards achieving organizational vision in the current era.
