Tandra Choudhury is a passionate and dedicated individual with a strong background in the development sector. As a Fellow at Teach For India, she is currently working towards finding long-term solutions to the issues that affect the communities of her students. Tandra strongly believes in the power of collective leadership and teamwork to solve deep-rooted issues in the development sector. Her motivation comes from compassion and a desire to assist the most vulnerable populations in society. Tandra has interned with the non-profit Responsible Charity, where she mainly focused on mentoring and tutoring children from low-income families. She has also worked as a Teaching Fellow at Teach For India, where she served as a full-time educator to 80 students from underprivileged communities in government schools. During her tenure, she collaborated with key stakeholders to show an overall improvement in different classroom metrics such as access to a device, synchronous space attendance, engagement, asynchronous submission rate of the class, and increased parental investment. Tandra has also designed and facilitated Learning Circles towards instructing and preparing 5 Fellows for creating an impact in their respective classrooms. She has recently designed a seven-day-long Teacher Training Module on Social Emotional Learning for government teachers of Haryana and developed new strategies and plans for an improved learning experience at Anubhuti Organisation, where she works as a Teacher Training Module Developer. Tandra is a Political Science Major from Loreto College, Kolkata, and has a strong background in Human Rights and English. She completed her high school education from Maria's Public School and her Bachelor's Degree (Honours) from Calcutta University. Tandra's experiences and skills have helped her develop a keen understanding of the development sector, and she aspires to use them to help build a more inclusive and egalitarian community. With 2.86 years of relevant experience, Tandra is a committed and driven professional who values collaboration and teamwork.
