Tara Sasank Sunkara is a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with over 11 years of relevant experience in building large scale distributed systems. Currently working at Splunk, Tara's interests lie in automation and orchestration, graph processing, distributed storage systems, and network protocols. Tara's past experience includes working as a Senior Member of Technical Staff at VMware and a Software Engineer II at eBay. During his tenure at eBay, Tara was responsible for building an automation platform that orchestrates infrastructure services for complete life cycle management of eBay's private cloud. He automated network configuration, vendor validation, and provisioning of new infrastructure for the cloud built on top of OpenStack and VMware. Tara also built an automation platform for application instance remediation, virtual machine migration, and reclamation, and a PAAS solution for the applications based on Docker containers enabling CI as a service, DB as a Service, which also provides resource monitoring and an overview of the containers using cAdvisor.
