Tarun Lohani is a seasoned software engineer with 9 years of experience in backend, cloud technologies, and application development for mobile, tablet, and wearable devices. He has a passion for backend development, distributed systems, and cloud technologies. Tarun has been responsible for every aspect of software product development from requirement analysis, estimation, design, and coding through testing, deployment, and monitoring. In this fast-paced and ever-changing environment, he has successfully managed to be a forward thinker. He is open-minded, proactive, and always looking forward to adapting to new technologies. Currently, Tarun Lohani is working as a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, where he is responsible for developing the latest version of Invoice APIs based on top of Graph API. He is also adding capabilities to integrate with 3rd party providers and online sellers, which is expected to increase onsite transactions and help boost Ads signals. Tarun is also enhancing the tier-based Peer to Merchant (P2M) messaging payments product experience on Messenger, BizApp, and Meta Business Suite, targeted for US, LATAM, and APAC markets. He has worked on both server and Android side changes for XMA rebranding, Ads value props, and Seller re-engagement, with a positive impact on onsite transactions and merchant sales. Previously, Tarun has worked for PayPal as a Software Engineer 2, where he worked on PayPal's next-generation infrastructure platform. He has also worked for Google as a Software Engineering Intern, where he worked on "Android Toolkit Improvements for Large Screen Devices" running on ChromeOS and Android. Tarun has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur. He has completed his AISSE and AISSCE from Kendriya Vidyalaya. Tarun has a diverse tech stack, including software engineering, backend, Android, infra, test, mobile, microservices, GCP, and UI.
