Thejesh GN is an accomplished technologist, polymath, developer, and open data enthusiast from Bangalore, India. He currently serves as the CTO of Peppo, where he is responsible for driving the development of AskYourGovt.in, a comprehensive database of public interest RTI requests and responses. In addition, he is also a data archivist at DataMeet, the largest community of data science and open data enthusiasts in India, where he co-founded and chairs the DataMeet Trust. With over 17 years of relevant experience, Thejesh has worked with several reputable organizations, including First Walkin and Optimuminfosystem, where he served as an Engineer++ and Engineer at NPTEL/Google, India, respectively. At NPTEL/Google, he was part of the engineering team behind the NPTEL Online Courses platform, a MOOC project by NPTEL, NASSCOM, MHRD, and Google, built on CourseBuilder, an open-source online education platform. Thejesh is a passionate advocate of using technology in the social sector and has been recognized for his contributions to the community. He was awarded the Infosys Community Empathy Fellowship in 2010. When he is not working, he enjoys hacking open-source software, speaking at events, and hosting workshops. Thejesh holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communication from Vishveshwaraiah Technological University and a BE in Engineering in Electronics and Communication from BTL ITM. He possesses a diverse tech stack that includes senior software engineering and data science skills.
