Tilak D is an accomplished Applied Researcher with a passion for life-long learning and a strong background in Deep Learning (DL) and Machine learning (ML) for Computer Vision (CV) and Natural Language Processing (NLP). With over 6 years of relevant experience, Tilak is a Manager and Technical Expert at Ford, where he has led the development of an end-to-end Computer Vision platform supporting petabytes of perception data management. His expertise includes Inference As A Service, Pipeline As A Service, Elastic Search, Analytics, and Model training capability using high-performance clusters. Tilak is a skilled Lead Data Scientist who has worked on developing DL based CV products for Manufacturing, smart cities, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems like Driver State Monitoring, Perception, and Mapping of Autonomous Vehicles. He is well-versed in deploying Flask, Dockers, and container-orchestration systems like Kubernetes and Argo Workflows. Tilak is a mentor to over 600 students, guiding them in the field of ML, DL, and Data Science and providing personalized feedback on their projects in CV, NLP, data analytics, and autonomous vehicle operation using CNN, RNN, GAN, and Deep RLs. Tilak is currently working as a Staff Software Design Engineer - Deep Learning Computer Vision at Velodyne Lidar India, where he is setting up, growing, and operationalizing the India design center's Perception team to help solve the challenging problem of autonomous mobility through innovation in LiDAR sensors and self-driving software. In addition to research and development in Deep Learning based 3D perception, he works to foster customer and partner opportunities in India for LiDAR-based solutions. Tilak has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from Ramaiah Institute of Technology, and he has completed Artificial Intelligence Engineer and Machine Learning Engineer Nanodegrees from Udacity. His Tech Stack includes Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Research Scientist, NLP, Data Scientist, ML, Elastic Search, Search, Object detection, AI, CNN, RNN, GAN, Object Detection, Kubernetes, Flask, and Adversarial Networks.
