Umang Kamdar is a Software Developer at Playpower Labs with almost a year of experience in the industry. He believes in not only developing oneself but also the work that one undertakes. At Playpower, Umang has worked on creating new microservices from existing monolith architecture by carving out the necessary business logic. He has also developed new RESTful APIs with Spring Boot Reactive Web (Webflux) following functional programming methodology. Additionally, he has worked on the BFF (Backend for Frontend) middle-ware layer with GraphQL to combine the outputs of different microservices and provide the same to MFEs. Umang has successfully handled the updation of million records under different microservices running parallelly and also ensuring backward compatibility using a script. He has worked with Jenkins and various AWS services like EC2, EB, SNS, SQS, LB, etc. He has also worked with Postgres and DynamoDb databases. Umang has improved overall test coverage to >90% in different microservices. He has also helped the team in finding the root cause for a few bugs in the prod environment. He has monitored logs on different microservices with Datadog and Cloudwatch. Prior to his current role, Umang worked as a Software Development Intern at Playpower and Liveasy. At Liveasy, he worked with the core team to build the RESTful APIs using Spring Boot, Hibernate, Spring Data JPA, and Postgres. He also performed API Testing with RestAssured, Load testing with JMeter, Unit Testing with JUnit5, and Mockito. He added Exception Handling and logging to APIs. Umang holds a Bachelor of Technology in Information and Communication Technology from Ahmedabad University. He has experience in Software Engineering, Microservices, AWS, testing, Spring, Spring Boot, Postgres, Jenkins, Frontend, Backend, Web, and Mobile.
