Umang Surana is a co-founder and problem-solving enthusiast who is always brimming with ideas. He is currently working on building a kickass team and hiring for multiple roles in the edtech industry. Umang is passionate about creating an education revolution, and his current company, capabl, is a part of Elite Techno Groups. Before capabl, Umang has worked with 7x Sales as a Strategy Ops and as a Co-Founder of HighwayCookie. At HighwayCookie, Umang introduced a first-of-its-kind digital travel assistant for intra-city travel to make the life of millions of riders productive and fun. He tested the MVP with three drivers for a month and established consumer needs with 78% positive reviews. Umang set up a registered company of a team of developers & designers with personal and angel investment. He worked and negotiated with designers, developers, client’s product team, vendors, media agencies, CA, and bank to build a launch-ready product within six months of concept testing, including software and hardware setup. Umang got featured in an article in the Hospitality Biz and reached out to customers via e-mails, calls, and meetings. He launched the product in ten cabs with an advertising agency for a span of three months generating INR 1 Lakh approx. Umang initiated business development talks with Karnataka Tourism Minister, top executives at Uber, Ola, Gozo (partnered with them), Lemon Tree, The Oberoi, Marriott, Hilton, The Lalit, among many others. He launched the product in three segments – in-cab infotainment, in-cab advertising & luxury hospitality segment. Umang has a dual degree in Integrated B. Tech and M. Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, with a specialization in Civil Engineering and Applied Mechanics. He also has a 10th-grade degree from Nosegay Public School, India.
