Prior to joining Instabase, Upendra was the Founder of ActiveSell, a multi-channel sales engagement SaaS platform designed for sales reps at mid-market/SMB businesses doing outbound prospecting. He built the first version of the entire product single-handedly and grew the company to up to 25+ customers. Upendra's GTM efforts included cold outbound, a podcast called "Cold Outreach Success Stories," a private Facebook community of sales reps and solo founders, and the release of several free tools to increase top-line. He had a vision of bootstrapping to 1 MN+ ARR strictly without raising external funding but was forced to close shop after a lot of initial promise, as they had to pay a lot of upfront fees for third-party security audit.
