Urvish Mahida is an experienced Technical Lead with over 11 years of experience in the field of Big Data Engineering. He is currently working as a Member of Technical Staff at PhonePe, where he is responsible for designing and implementing data processing, data pipelines, storage, data infrastructure, and microservices. His expertise lies in enabling digital payments through distributed backend and data infrastructure development. Urvish has a strong track record of working on big data engineering projects and leading challenges. He has worked on implementing a cold storage solution using Streaming framework and Hbase for UPI data, designing and implementing solutions for card payment flows, migrating pod of service across data centers, and fixing bottlenecks in TPS performance. He is also responsible for mentoring juniors at PhonePe. In the past, Urvish has worked as a Tech Lead and Senior Data Platforms Engineer at Exabeam. At Exabeam, he led a Data Lake Backend Team and worked on big data pipelines using Kafka, Kafka Connect for data parsing and enrichment, high throughput indexing into Elasticsearch & Data Storage, and designed Cross Region Search support in Data lake product. Urvish holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, Arizona State University, and a Bachelor of Engineering from Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad University of Baroda. He has also completed a course from UCSC Exention.
