Vardhan Patankar is a highly accomplished Mechanical Engineer and MBA candidate at IIM Ahmedabad. With a total of 3.78 years of experience, he has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Eaton and IIT Bombay Racing. At Eaton, Vardhan was responsible for the technical development of Hydrogen Recirculation system targeting Heavy Duty Fuel Cell Vehicles. He led the trade-off study of different architectures and technology development & maturation of Hydrogen Recirculation Pump and Ejector systems. He also worked on maturing emission reduction technologies in Diesel HD engine such as Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) in valvetrain. Vardhan's experience at IIT Bombay Racing is equally impressive. He spearheaded a 3-tier team of Vehicle Dynamics subsystem to design and fabricate suspension, brakes, steering, wheel assemblies along with modeling vehicle behavior. He led the team in realizing a vehicle performance goal of implementing smaller wheels (10" rims) with a gain in acceleration by 28%, and weight reduction of 22%. He initiated cost-cutting solutions in fabrication of the vehicle using hybrid manufacturing processes and in-house machining, resulting in a 17% cost reduction. He also saved fabrication time by 40% by expanding vendor network and resource management. He pioneered professional rendering of CAD models. Vardhan's education background is equally impressive. He holds a Master of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution. Currently, he is pursuing his Master of Business Administration degree from IIM Ahmedabad. Currently, Vardhan is working as a Summer Associate at McKinsey.
