14 October 2026 · Company news
LinkedIn has named Weekday one of the Top Startups in India for 2026. We are #8 of 20, and one of six companies on this year's list built around AI.
The list is LinkedIn's yearly look at the young companies people most want to work for and that are growing fastest. For a team that has spent five years building quietly, it is a nice moment, and a good excuse to explain what we actually do.

What is the LinkedIn Top Startups list?
Every year LinkedIn ranks startups in a number of countries using its own data. For the 2026 India list, it looked at four things over the period 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026:
- Employment growth: how fast the company's headcount grew.
- Engagement: how many people engaged with the company and its employees on LinkedIn.
- Job interest: how many people viewed and applied to its jobs.
- Attraction of top talent: how well it pulled in people from the country's top companies.
The ranking is built from LinkedIn's own member data, not from pitches or nominations, which is why it is a useful signal of real momentum in the Indian startup ecosystem.
Where Weekday ranks
Weekday comes in at #8, between Emergent at #7 and Sarvam at #9. Thirteen of this year's 20 companies are new to the list, and four of the top five are debutants. Zepto holds the #1 spot for the fourth year in a row.
Here is how LinkedIn describes us on the list:
- Headquarters: Bengaluru
- Founded: 2021 (Y Combinator, Winter 2021 batch)
- Full-time headcount: 50+
- What we do: an AI recruitment platform that runs outbound sourcing campaigns to find the right talent, plus an AI-powered platform for professionals to search and apply for jobs across the web
What Weekday actually builds
Weekday is an AI recruiting agent. A hiring team posts a job, the way they normally would. From there the agent does the work that usually eats a recruiter's week:
- Finds people. It scans millions of profiles and picks the ones that fit the role, not just the keywords.
- Reaches out. It writes to each person individually by email and WhatsApp.
- Follows up. It keeps the conversation going, including over phone calls, which almost no other sourcing tool does.
- Hands over interested candidates. The hiring team only sees people who have said yes to a conversation.
If you are hiring, you can post a job for free and see it work on a real role.
What it means if you are looking for a job
The other half of Weekday is for candidates. Our jobs platform pulls openings from across the web into one place, matches them to your profile, and lets you apply fast. Because the same system is used by companies to find people, being on Weekday means recruiters can find you too.
We also build free tools for candidates: an in-hand salary calculator, a salary hike calculator, company-wise salary data and an ATS resume checker.
A word from our CEO
Amit Singh, our co-founder and CEO, shared the news on LinkedIn. His summary of the last five years: it "still feels like Day 1". In his post he talks about what the team has been heads-down on: making the recruiting agent genuinely effective at getting the right people interested, not just finding them.
