How the salary hike calculator works
Two simple formulas. Pick the one that matches your question.
New salary from hike %
New CTC = Current CTC × (1 + Hike % ÷ 100). ₹8 L × 1.15 = ₹9.2 L
Hike % from two salaries
Hike % = (New − Old) ÷ Old × 100. (₹12 L − ₹10 L) ÷ ₹10 L = 20%
What hits your bank
We run both CTCs through the FY 2026-27 tax slabs, PF and professional tax to show the real monthly change.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my salary hike percentage?
Hike % = (New CTC − Old CTC) ÷ Old CTC × 100. Example: ₹10 L to ₹12 L is (12 − 10) ÷ 10 × 100 = 20%.
How do I calculate my new salary after a hike?
New CTC = Current CTC × (1 + Hike % ÷ 100). Example: ₹8 L with a 15% hike = 8 × 1.15 = ₹9.2 L.
Is the hike applied on CTC or on in-hand salary?
Hikes are usually quoted on CTC. Your in-hand goes up by less, because tax and PF rise too. Use the in-hand line in the result, or open the In-Hand Salary Calculator for the full breakup.
What is a good salary hike when switching jobs?
It depends on your role, level and market. Compare the offer with what similar roles pay: browse live jobs on Weekday filtered by your target salary.
What is the difference between increment and hike?
They mean the same thing in most offer letters: the raise in your pay, shown as an amount (increment) or a percentage (hike).
Does a hike change my tax slab?
It can. Under the new regime, taxable income up to ₹12 L (after the ₹75,000 standard deduction) has zero tax. Crossing that line adds tax, so the in-hand jump can be smaller than the hike %.
