Accenture Interview Questions 2026: Cognitive, Technical, Coding and HR (With Answers)

Accenture interview questions

Accenture hires freshers through a fixed set of rounds: an online cognitive and technical assessment, a coding test, a spoken communication test, and then an interview. Your scores decide whether you land the ASE role or the higher-paying Analyst role.

This guide covers the full Accenture process and 30 commonly asked Accenture interview questions with short answers.

Accenture hiring process at a glance

  1. Cognitive and technical assessment (about 90 minutes, online, proctored).
  2. Coding round: 2 problems in about 45 minutes.
  3. Communication assessment: a recorded spoken English test.
  4. Interview: usually one combined technical + HR round of 30–45 minutes. Analyst candidates may get two rounds.
  5. Offer letter, followed by onboarding training.

Accenture roles for freshers

  • Associate Software Engineer (ASE), approx. ₹4.5 LPA: the mass-hiring role with more seats and a lower cutoff.
  • Analyst / Advanced ASE, approx. ₹6.5 – 7 LPA: fewer seats and a higher cutoff on the assessment.
  • Premium tracks (approx. ₹11 LPA+): limited drives, mostly at top campuses.

You do not choose the track. Your assessment score decides it. Figures vary by batch, so confirm on the Accenture India careers portal.

Accenture assessment pattern

  • Cognitive: analytical reasoning: about 7–8 questions.
  • Cognitive: abstract reasoning: about 7–8 questions (shapes, patterns, series).
  • Cognitive: problem solving: about 9–10 questions.
  • Technical: programming fundamentals: about 10–12 questions (pseudocode, output, OOP).
  • Technical: networking, cloud, security and MS Office basics: about 8–11 questions.
  • English: grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension.

Accenture is unusual because it asks about networking, cloud and security even for fresher roles. Do not skip these topics.

Accenture cognitive questions (examples)

  1. Find the odd one out: 3, 5, 7, 9, 11.
9, because it is the only one that is not prime.
  2. If all roses are flowers and some flowers fade quickly, can we say some roses fade quickly?
No. It does not follow from the statements.
  3. A clock shows 3:15. What is the angle between the hands?
The hour hand is 7.5° past 3, so the angle is 7.5°.
  4. Abstract reasoning: a shape rotates 90° clockwise each step. What comes next?
Track one corner of the shape. That is the fastest way through these questions.

Accenture technical questions

Networking, cloud and security

  1. What is an IP address?
A unique address that identifies a device on a network.
  2. What is the difference between HTTP and HTTPS?
HTTPS encrypts data using SSL/TLS. HTTP does not.
  3. What is DNS?
The system that converts domain names (like google.com) into IP addresses.
  4. What are IaaS, PaaS and SaaS?
Infrastructure (virtual machines), platform (managed runtime) and software (ready apps like Gmail) delivered as a service.
  5. What is phishing?
Tricking people into giving sensitive data through fake emails or websites.
  6. What is a firewall?
A system that filters network traffic based on security rules.
  7. What is the OSI model?
A 7-layer model for network communication: physical, data link, network, transport, session, presentation and application.

Programming and OOP

  1. What is polymorphism? Give an example.
One interface, many forms, for example a draw() method behaving differently for a Circle and a Square.
  2. What is the difference between compile time and run time errors?
Compile time errors are caught before running (syntax). Run time errors happen while running (division by zero).
  3. What is an API?
A set of rules that lets two software systems talk to each other.
  4. What is Agile?
An approach that delivers work in short iterations (sprints) with frequent feedback. Accenture uses Agile on most projects.
  5. What is the SDLC?
The software development life cycle: requirements, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance.

DBMS

  1. What is a primary key?
A column that uniquely identifies each row and cannot be null.
  2. What is the difference between SQL and NoSQL?
SQL databases are relational with fixed schemas. NoSQL databases are flexible (documents, key-value, graphs).
  3. Write a query to find employees earning more than 50,000.
    SELECT * FROM employee WHERE salary > 50000;

Accenture coding round questions

Two easy to easy-medium problems in about 45 minutes. C, C++, Java and Python are allowed.

  1. Find the sum of even numbers in an array.
  2. Count the words in a sentence.
  3. Check whether a number is a palindrome.
  4. Return the smallest and largest element of an array.
  5. Replace every vowel in a string with a given character.
  6. Find the number of elements greater than the average of an array.

Tip: Accenture often scores partial test cases. Submit a working basic solution first, then optimise.

Accenture communication assessment

This is a recorded spoken English test. You read a passage aloud, repeat sentences, answer short questions, and sometimes speak on a topic for 30–60 seconds. Speak clearly at a steady pace. Fluency matters more than fancy words.

Accenture HR interview questions

  1. Tell me about yourself.
Keep it short: education, one project, key skills and why consulting/IT.
  2. Why Accenture?
Talk about the variety of clients, the focus on cloud and AI, and learning opportunities.
  3. Are you open to any technology or location?
Accenture assigns projects based on business need. Show flexibility.
  4. Describe a time you learned something new quickly.
Use a real example with a clear result.
  5. How do you handle feedback?
Show that you listen, apply it and follow up.
